Honor Code Policy
In an effort to encourage fair assessments and to authenticate learning, the Chattahoochee faculty supports a strong policy against cheating.
Cheating can be defined in the following instances:
Minimum Consequence for 1st offense:
Students guilty of an honor code violation will receive a grade of “0” on the assignment or test and a day of ISS and are not eligible to recover that grade. Administration reserves the right to adjust disciplinary consequences based on the severity of the honor code violation and/or the impact to other students. Documenting an honor code in a student's disciplinary record is non-negotiable.
The assignment may not be made up (students who have a “0” are not eligible for recovery). Additionally, an Honor Code Violation Form will be completed by the teacher and filed with the administration. Students receiving an Honor Code violations will be assigned In School Suspension as outlined in the Fulton County Code of Conduct & Discipline Handbook. Please note, your college application may ask you to report instances of academic dishonesty.
Students who have been found to be distributing secure material or assessment information to others that violates the Honor Code may receive up to 10 days OSS.
We encourage you to talk to your teachers if you are not sure how to use or cite information that is not your own original work.
